Joe Swash has shared his own message to fans after the suggestion he received a ‘backlash’ over his appearance in his new reality show with wife Stacey Solomon.

The former EastEnders star and his Sort Your Life Out host partner Stacey have opened up their homes to the cameras for the very first time.

Their six-part series, Stacey & Joe, kicked off on Tuesday night (April 1) and follows the couple and their children as they juggle family life with their busy careers and all the ups and downs inbetween.

Stacey and Joe, who tied the knot in 2022, share three children, Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. Joe also has a teenage son called Harry while Stacey is a mum to older boys Zachary and Leighton.

And their fly-on-the-wall series with the BBC take fans beyond what they see of Stacey and Joe on other TV shows or on social media after they spent last summer and autumn filming their own reality series alongside their children.

The first episode of six aired on Tuesday night (April 1), which kicked off as Joe served Stacey breakfast in bed as they celebrated their second wedding anniversary.

With Joe taking two of their young children out shopping for an anniversary gift, Stacey was seen with a tired Rose and began to share the story of how her and Joe first met.

She recalled: “I met daddy in a far away world called Australia. He was so funny and so silly he made mummy laugh a lot.” Joe then spoke about their first meeting after she left the jungle as the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.”

Stacey then continued: “We spoke to each other on the phone every single day and then he came home and daddy said I’ll came over. He came round for Friday night dinner and met the whole family and hasn’t left since… Haven’t been able to shake him.”

The rest of the episode saw the couple juggling work and childcare as well as heading off on a big family holiday to Turkey alongside Stacey’s dad, sister and half-brother.

While Stacey took to her own social media page to respond to her fans’ comments about the show, Joe took to his own Instagram page as he responded to some comments.

He asked fans what their ‘favourite part’ of the first episode was and when one follower said: “just how real and relatable you both are,” Joe replied: “Thank you so much for that comment. It really is nice. I think it’s the only way me and Stacey know how to be is to be ourselves. Thank you so much for noticing and your kinds words. We’ll try and continue to be ourselves.”

Another also shared: “You both made me laugh all the way through the programme. Can’t wait for next week!” Joe said in a video response: “Thank you so much. It does mean a lot to me and Stacey that you enjoyed the episode. The next episode is out next Tuesday at 8 o’clock.

“Hopefully you’ll enjoy that one too. I don’t know what to say but thank you. We’ve had so many many lovely comments and it really does mean the world to us so cheers guys.”
