The star laughed as an old clip was posted on social media
Emmerdale actress Beth Cordingly found it “hilarious” as a fan posted a clip of her and Natalie Robb in a scene from The Bill together.
Best known for portraying Ruby Miligan in the ITV soap which she joined in 2024, her recent performances were met with so much praise that she was awarded “Best Newcomer” at the 2025 TV Choice Awards.
During recent weeks, Beth took on a challenging storyline as Ruby’s estranged father Anthony Fox and daughter Steph Miligan arrived in the Dales.
Emmerdale aired flashbacks that showed she was subjected to repeated sexual abuse at the hands of Anthony, and that he even fathered Steph after DNA results showed Caleb had zero percent chance of being the biological father.
Things soon escalated when Aaron Dingle confronted Anthony at the depot, and after demanding justice for Ruby due to his own experience of abuse from his biological father, Anthony lay bleeding on the floor.
Aaron returned later with his boyfriend – now fiancĂ© – John Sugden and they found him dead. Acting quickly, John cleared the crime scene of any evidence along with Anthony’s body.
As Aaron began to spiral, he later found out that it was Ruby who had ended her father’s life to receive her own form of justice.
Before joining Emmerdale, the actress appeared in The Bill as PC Kerry Young which was a regular role. Kerry ended up having an affair with Smithy (Alex Walkinshaw) during her time as an undercover police officer, but as he declared his love for her she was shot and killed by Gabriel before she could respond.
Taking to her Instagram, Beth reposted a video of her and Natalie Robb (Moira Dingle) both starring in The Bill together. The original caption read: “No wonder why Moira and Ruby had beef” as Beth branded it “hilarious!”.
Natalie Robb took on the role of Andrea Dunbar in 2004 before her exit in 2005, four years before she joined the cast of Emmerdale.
It was later revealed that Andrea was an undercover journalist placed at the station by her editor to write an investigative piece on whether or not the Metropolitan Police Service had become too politically correct. As her time on the show progressed, she shared inside scoops with her editor on stories that should have never been made public – including Kerry’s rape.
The clip showed the pair arguing after Kerry found out the truth, and as the original caption read, the pair have had their own troubles in Emmerdale also.
As Ruby struggled to come to terms with the traumatic flashbacks of Anthony’s abuse, she turned to Cain who was also in a dark place while Moira was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Moira later found out that Cain and Ruby had slept together while she had life-threatening surgery, leading to her confronting Ruby and the pair arguing it out.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
