Manchester City claimed an important win while Newcastle United Aston Villa
Manchester City moved above Nottingham Forest and cemented their spot in the Premier League top five with a win at Everton on Saturday.
For large swathes of the contest it looked as if City would play out a drab draw at Goodison but Nico O’Reilly struck late on before sub Mateo Kovacic added a second to secure a 2-0 victory.
Chelsea are in action on Sunday when they visit Fulham while Nottingham Forest travel to Tottenham on Monday. It means City are up to fourth in the table.
Newcastle United, in third, were then thumped 4-1 by Aston Villa in the evening game on Saturday meaning Pep Guardiola’s side are just a point behind the Magpies. Here’s how the run-in looks for those clubs competing for a Champions League spot.
