The Irish pub, famous for its London outpost, is opening its first Manchester venue for the first time on Friday – with a big offer on pints
Renowned Irish pub, Nancy Spains, is finally set to open its doors in Manchester this weekend after building delays prevented its planned launch in time for St Patrick’s Day.
The pub, famous for its London outposts, will bring its signature blend of authentic Irish hospitality, live music, and pints of Murphy’s (rather than Guinness) to the Northern Quarter from Friday.
The launch marks the pub’s first expansion outside of London, introducing a new destination for those seeking what they say is the “ultimate traditional Irish pub experience”. And it comes amid an Irish bar boom in Manchester in recent months.
To celebrate the opening, the first 5,000 pints of Murphy’s poured at the new Nancy Spains will be just £2.50 to celebrate the opening day on Friday, April 4 from 1pm.
The opening offer will be the first chance for Mancunians to experience the “warm, welcoming atmosphere that has established Nancy Spains as one of London’s favourite pubs” according to its bosses.
Designed to honour Irish culture while embracing the dynamic energy of its new location, Nancy Spains Manchester will be on Hilton Street in the Northern Quarter.
It will feature a carefully curated selection of drinks, including an array of Irish whiskeys and their infamous pints of Murphy’s Stout (you won’t find Guinness at this Irish pub), live music performances, and a lively late-night setting.

With two popular venues in London, Nancy Spains’ owners say they aim to merge the warmth and spirit of classic Irish hospitality, creating a space that feels both familiar and new.
The team of three brothers behind the pub travelled all over their home county of rural Kerry, researching traditional Irish pubs to help craft their vision for Nancy Spains. They aimed to create a gathering place that balances the comforts of a traditional pub with the vibrancy of the city.
Peter O’Halloran, co-founder of Nancy Spains, said: “We’re so excited to be launching in Manchester, bringing Nancy Spains to the heart of the Northern Quarter.
“After the success of our two venues in London, it was only right to bring Nancy Spains’ infectious spirit and Irish pride to Manchester. Slainte!”
Opening times will be Mondays to Thursdays, 4pm to 12am, and Fridays-Sundays 1pm to 2am.
