“They took the picture and then suddenly I’m being ripped off my bike”
A YouTuber said he was left ‘pissed off’ after two masked men robbed him of his electric bike. Carmine Stones was travelling near Alexandra Park in Oldham when he was approached by the two masked men on a motorbike.
The pair originally asked for a picture with Carmine, from Oldham, during the interaction that took place on a footpath on Queens Road on Tuesday evening (April 1).
During the incident, which Carmine caught on his GoPro, he was shoved to the floor and the bike was forcibly taken off him before the two men rode away. Speaking about the incident, Carmine, told the M.E.N: “I’m a YouTuber who does biking videos, and that’s the reason why I stopped for a picture as it has happened before.
“They took the picture and suddenly I’m being ripped off my bike. I didn’t get hurt much but it p***ed me off. I’m not going to lie.” Carmine says that police were called by members of the public who witnessed the incident and GMP were able to track the bike and recover it the same night.
No arrests have been made, and police are calling for anybody with information to come forward. Carmine, 20, has shared the footage on his social media and YouTube channel, which is called ‘Kurrgas’, with the hopes of finding the suspects.
“I’m now trying to identify the offenders who robbed my bike at 7pm last night at Park Bridge on Kings Road. Just making people aware that there are youths on moped assaulting people to rob them. The full video of it is on my YouTube channel.”
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 7.10pm last night (1 April 2025), we received reports of a theft of an electric bike on Queens Road, Oldham. The victim suffered minor injuries and the vehicle was later recovered nearby. No arrests have been made.
“Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log 3258 of 01/04/25.
“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
