The victims, aged 15 and 18, were threatened with the blade as they walked home
Two teenage girls were targeted in a horror knife attack after a man reportedly ‘appeared from behind bushes’ in Prestwich on Sunday (March 30).
An urgent appeal has been issued by police after the terrifying knifepoint robbery. It was reported that at around 10.40pm, two girls aged 15 and 18 were walking home close to the junction of Bury New Road and St Mary’s Road.
A man then walked in front of them before turning onto St Mary’s Road, police said. It was reported the suspect then appeared from behind a bush and demanded money from the victims while threatening them with the blade.

He then took their phones and ran from the scene. A major investigation is now underway to identify the suspect, described as being white, with a stocky build, and aged in his 30s. He had a brown beard, dark facial features, and thick eyebrows.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson added: “Thankfully, neither of the victims were hurt. Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers are appealing for information as they continue their work.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 or our Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk, quoting log 3163 of 30/03/25.
